I am a descendant of the 4th France-USA emigration and the creator of this Web site. I live with my wife, Sally Guy, in Boston where I work as a computer programmer. Sally and I have visited France a number of times. To date, we have stayed with the family of Guy Barbaras in La Farlède outside Toulon, we have visited the Kunnemann family in Ostheim, the Kleindiensts in Zellenberg, and the family of Fernand Barbaras in Beblenheim. Guy and his wife, Jocelyne and Vincent Barbaras have visited us in Boston.

Before Guy Barbaras' vacation to the U.S. in 1991, I had no knowledge whatsoever of my heritage; no idea that there were other Barbarases in the United States and France; and I had not the slightest interest in genealogy. Much of what I now know about my family's history and my research on the immigrations to the U.S. stem from Guy's work.

Je suis un descendant de la quatrième émigration de France aux Etats-Unis et je suis le créateur de ce site Web. J'habite avec ma femme, Sally Guy, à Boston où je travaille comme informaticien. Sally et moi avons visité la France plusieurs fois. Jusqu'ici, nous avons rendu visite à la famille de Guy en La Farlède à l'extérieur de Toulon, la famille Kunnemann en Ostheim, les Kleindiensts en Zellenberg, et la famille de Fernand Barbaras en Beblenheim. Avant des vacances de Guy Barbaras aux Etats-Unis en 1991, je n'avais aucune connaissance de mes origines; aucune idée qu'il y avait des autres Barbaras aux Etats-Unis et en France; et je n'avais pas le moindre intérêt à la généalogie. Beaucoup de mes recherches concernant les immigrations aux Etats-Unis et ce que je sais maintenant de l'histoire de ma famille proviennent des travaux de Guy.
